Accusations Against Adamus False – Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe

The accusations against the management of Adamus Resources Limited has been flawed by President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe.

Mr. Cudjoe has called upon Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, to reassess the Minerals Commission’s management of the resource company, adding that the agency did not adhere to due process.

While acknowledging the minister’s initiatives in combating illegal mining, Mr. Cudjoe expressed concern that the situation with Adamus could jeopardise those achievements, according to a report by Ghana Report.

“We are grateful to the hardworking Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, my good friend, Minister Kofi Buah, who is navigating an intricate political minefield to restore our flora and fauna,” he stated.

He also commended the minister’s choice to reverse the takeover of sections of the Achimota Forest, but emphasised that additional measures were necessary to safeguard the integrity of legitimate mining operations.

“The Minister must protect his reputation from whimsical, plundering acts cloaked as legal actions by agencies like the Minerals Commission,” Cudjoe remarked.

In reference to the Adamus Resources situation, Cudjoe maintained that the company was deprived of the necessary procedures outlined in the Minerals and Mining Act before the revocation of its mining leases.

“Having seen all documentation, I have no doubt the accusations against Adamus are heavily contrived and choreographed over just three investigative days, without following Act 703’s rules,” he asserted.

He further criticised the decision to appoint an Interim Management Committee to oversee the company’s operations.

“The Minerals Commission rushed to advise the Minister to illegally seize Adamus Resources and install a faceless, inept Interim Management Committee,” he claimed.

Addressing the minister directly, Cudjoe implored him to dissociate himself from the decision.

“My dear friend Minister Buah, these acts of banditry must not be committed in your name. The Minerals Commission is wrong and has handed you a poisoned chalice, virtually stealing assets of a globally renowned mining company. It is not good,” he added.
