Voting has been completed in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) North East Regional elections, with all 159 delegates casting their ballots.
The Electoral Commission is expected to begin sorting and counting the ballots at 2:00 p.m. following the close of voting.
About 35 aspirants are contesting various positions in the regional executive elections.
The regional chairmanship race has attracted particular attention, with the incumbent chairman seeking a third term in office.
He is being challenged by the incumbent regional secretary, setting the stage for a closely watched contest as delegates await the results.
