Accra, Aug. 14, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Region “C” of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, has hosted the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and the National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, on a historic apostolic visit at the Central Assembly of God Church in Mim.
The event, described as the third apostolic visit of Rev. Wengam, brought together serving and retired ministers, their spouses, and widows of deceased pastors from across the region.
A major highlight of the visit was an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session led by Rev. Wengam, which focused on thanksgiving, repentance, revival, intercession and petition.
Special prayers were offered for the upcoming General Council Meeting of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, and the World Congress of the Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to take place in Accra in October this year.
Rev. Wengam also led married couples through the renewal of their wedding vows and encouraged pastors and their spouses to make their marriages worthy examples for church members to emulate.
Earlier, the General Superintendent inspected the ongoing regional office building project and expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.
He urged the Regional Executive Committee to ensure the completion of the project by 2028.
Addressing the gathering, the Regional Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Osei Owusu, highlighted key achievements recorded under Rev. Wengam’s leadership through the church’s Transformation Agenda.
He commended the General Superintendent for what he described as visionary and sacrificial leadership, citing initiatives such as the sod-cutting for the Assemblies of God, Ghana Centenary City Project, the apostolic visit programme, critical reforms within the church, exposure trips for church leaders, and what he termed an unprecedented spiritual revival across the denomination.
Rev. Osei Owusu also expressed appreciation to Rev. and Mrs. Wengam for donating 250 bags of cement towards the regional office project and sponsoring a legacy project at Goaso in 2022.
He further noted that the General Council had recently contributed GH¢50,000 towards the completion of the office complex.
For her part, Lady Mrs. Wengam praised pastors’ wives for their supportive role in ministry and encouraged them to promote unity and harmony in their homes.
She presented gifts to serving pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses, as well as widows of deceased pastors.
The retirees received cash donations and other items, while their spouses and the widows were given cash gifts and pieces of cloth. Pastors’ wives were each presented with a piece of cloth, while pastors also received gifts.
In a gesture of appreciation, the Brong Ahafo Region “C” Council presented a ram to Rev. and Mrs. Wengam.
