BasiGo has announced a new partnership with energy solutions provider Rubis Energy Kenya to expand fast-charging infrastructure along the country’s key transport corridors.
The move is expected to enable the growth of electric mobility across the country, with the first charging station opened under the partnership now fully operational at the Rubis service station in Sabaki, Athi River, with additional sites in Meru, Nanyuki, and Nyeri scheduled to commissioned later this month.

Open to the public; the stations will be used to provide access to charging infrastructure for electric buses, vans, trucks, passenger vehicles and more.
Equipped with both CCS2 and GB/T DC 100kW fast chargers, the Sabaki charging station aims to provide charge for a typical passenger vehicle in under an hour, with compatibility extending across a wide range of commercial electric vehicles.
All sites under the partnership will feature similar charging technology, and offer charging at an indicative rate of KES 48 per kWh, ensuring consistent and reliable experience across the network.
