New Abirem (E/R), July 18, GNA – Zijin Golden Ridge Limited has donated 13 air-conditioning units valued at GHS 83,125 to the New Abirem Government Hospital to support healthcare delivery and protect critical medical equipment.
The donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving service delivery within its host communities.
The air conditioners are expected to be installed in key departments of the hospital to maintain the controlled temperatures required for the effective operation of sensitive medical equipment.
At the presentation ceremony, Dr Patrick Atta Larbi Sakyi, Medical Superintendent of the New Abirem Government Hospital, commended the company for its continued support to the facility.
He described Zijin Golden Ridge Limited as a longstanding partner whose contributions in logistics, equipment and infrastructure had supported the hospital’s growth.
“Zijin has been a pillar of support for the New Abirem Government Hospital in logistics, equipment and infrastructure. The company’s assistance was pivotal in the facility’s transition from a health centre to a fully-fledged hospital,” he said.
Dr Sakyi noted that the air-conditioning units would help safeguard diagnostic equipment and improve the reliability and efficiency of healthcare services provided to patients.
Mr Paul Suchmann Apenu, Social Responsibility Manager at Zijin Golden Ridge Limited, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing of communities within its operational areas.
He said the donation was intended to help the hospital maintain essential equipment and improve healthcare outcomes for residents.
“We recognise that this is the primary district hospital serving our host communities, and supporting the hospital with these air conditioners is a strategic move to ensure the longevity of their medical equipment and the quality of care provided to the people,” he stated.
The donation forms part of a broader package of community interventions by Zijin Golden Ridge Limited in the areas of healthcare, education and socio-economic infrastructure development.
