Speaking during a recent interview, Cheque reflected on their early days, revealing that he, Asake, and media personality Yhemo Lee once lived together in the same room while pursuing their dreams in the entertainment industry.
Despite their long-standing relationship, Cheque disclosed that he and Asake have never collaborated on a song. According to him, the “Lonely at the Top” hitmaker is currently operating at a different level in his career.
Cheque explained that Asake may not see a collaboration with him as commercially beneficial at the moment, stressing that he completely understands the situation and harbours no resentment.
He, however, expressed confidence that their paths will eventually align, noting that Asake is fully aware of his talent and believes they will work together when the timing is right.
The rapper added that he remains focused on improving his craft and believes consistency will create opportunities for bigger collaborations in the future.
Cheque rose to prominence in 2021 with his hit single History, featuring Fireboy DML. Since then, he has worked with several notable artists, including Blaqbonez.
Interestingly, Cheque, Asake, Yhemo Lee, Fireboy DML, and Blaqbonez all attended the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where many of their entertainment journeys began.
