Contestants of the Miss Ghana 2026 pageant, led by the Chairperson of the Miss Ghana Foundation, Inna Patty, Esq., on Saturday joined the National Clean-Up Exercise following President John Mahama’s directive to restore cleanliness across the country.

Working alongside the Bus Stop Boys and staff of BOST Energies, the contestants and the Miss Ghana Foundation team cleaned gutters, streets and public spaces in East Legon, Bawaleshi and Shiashi, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve sanitation and promote civic responsibility in Accra.

The exercise forms part of the Miss Ghana Foundation’s Beauty with a Purpose initiative, which encourages contestants to become ambassadors for social impact through community service, volunteerism and sustainable development.

Beyond the crown, the Miss Ghana platform seeks to nurture young women who lead by example, inspire positive change and actively contribute to national development. The Foundation believes that true beauty is reflected not only in appearance but also in compassion, service and a commitment to improving society.

Speaking after the exercise Inna Patty, Esq., described the initiative as an important reminder that nation-building begins with everyday acts of service.

“It was hard work, incredibly rewarding and a powerful reminder that building the Ghana we all desire begins with each one of us. Clean communities are healthier, safer and more attractive for investment and tourism. We commend His Excellency the President for championing this national initiative and applaud the remarkable work of the Bus Stop Boys and BOST Energies for leading by example.

“At the Miss Ghana Foundation, we believe leadership is demonstrated through service. Our contestants are not just preparing for a crown; they are preparing to become responsible citizens and change-makers who inspire others to give back to their communities. We encourage every Ghanaian to make cleanliness a daily habit, not just a monthly exercise,” she said.

The clean-up exercise brought together volunteers from various organisations, all united by a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and community development. The collaboration also highlighted the importance of partnerships between the public, private and civil society sectors in building a cleaner and healthier Ghana.

The 69th edition of Miss Ghana is being held under the theme, “Empowering Women, Enduring Legacy.” The pageant continues to redefine beauty by placing equal emphasis on leadership, education, entrepreneurship, advocacy and social responsibility.
