Actress Benedicta Gafah pushed back Monday against Bishop Daniel Obinim’s claim that he blocked her first, saying she cut off contact herself and may release private recordings to prove it.
In an Instagram post published June 15, Gafah said Obinim “kept trying to contact me and I chose not to engage,” directly contradicting the preacher’s own account of the fallout between them.
Obinim had stated publicly that he blocked the actress following a social media dispute between Gafah and his wife, Florence Obinim, saying he made that decision out of frustration over the controversy the exchange created.
Gafah rejected that version of events. She warned she may release private audio recordings and conversations if the public feud does not end, a move that could significantly deepen the dispute.
The actress said she has spent close to a decade being linked to controversies and people she considers unrelated to her life, describing the pattern as frustrating and disrespectful.
She also said she is in a committed relationship and has introduced her partner to her family, making what she called repeated false allegations particularly unjust.
Gafah called on Obinim to stop attaching her name to matters that do not involve her and questioned why he chose to address her publicly at all.
Obinim, founder of the International Godsway Church and a well known figure in Ghana’s Pentecostal community, had not issued a public response to her claims at the time of publication.
Gafah’s post drew swift and widespread reactions on social media.
