The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, in partnership with the Christian Council of Ghana and the John C. Maxwell/Equip Leadership Ghana, has convened a three-day capacity building exercise for its management team aimed at sharpening leadership skills and equipping officials with practical tools to drive youth empowerment programmes nationwide.

The exercise brought together the ministry’s management team for a structured programme designed to foster collaboration between government and faith-based organisations.

According to a statement released after the event, the initiative sought to enhance leadership skills for effective youth development management, equip managers with modern strategies for policy implementation and evaluation, and foster ethical leadership rooted in integrity and accountability.

The three-day exercise was structured to balance theory, practice and reflection. Day one featured an opening ceremony, keynote addresses, and sessions on shifting mindsets from personal success to adding significance.

Day two comprised interactive workshops on developing future leaders and building high-impact teams. Day three focused on legacy mentoring for the next generation of youth leaders, turning vision into execution and sustainable impact, followed by closing reflections.

The Christian Council of Ghana played a pivotal role in the exercise. The council provided facilitators with expertise in ethical leadership and community engagement, offered spiritual guidance to reinforce values of service and integrity, and strengthened the partnership framework between faith-based organisations and government institutions.

By the close of the programme, participants were expected to demonstrate improved strategic planning and decision-making capacity, apply innovative approaches to youth empowerment initiatives, build stronger networks for inter-institutional collaboration, and commit to a renewed culture of accountability in service delivery.
