Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has urged his Manchester City teammates to seize the moment ahead of Sunday’s potentially decisive Premier League showdown against Arsenal.
The 26-year-old forward believes City are hitting top form at the perfect time as they prepare to host the league leaders at the Etihad Stadium in what could shape the outcome of the title race.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Semenyo expressed confidence in City’s recent performances, insisting the squad is ready to deliver.
“Our form over the last couple of games has been good and we’re playing probably the best football we’ve played in the second half of the season,” he said. “So it’s a good time to play them (Arsenal), I guess.”
City head into the fixture on the back of an impressive run, including victories over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, a dominant FA Cup win against Liverpool, and a convincing league triumph away at Chelsea.
Semenyo highlighted the contrast in momentum between both sides, with Arsenal stumbling in recent weeks while City continue to gather pace.
“Where they’ve dipped in form, we’ve picked up form, so it’ll be interesting. We’re excited, to be honest. I feel like we’re ready for the game Sunday,” he added.
The former Bournemouth attacker, who joined City in a big-money move in January, acknowledged the magnitude of the encounter but stopped short of definitively calling it a title decider.
“It’s gonna be a big one. Title-deciding, maybe? I don’t know. But it’s gonna be a tough game, don’t get me wrong.”
Despite Arsenal’s recent defeat to Bournemouth, Semenyo was quick to stress the need for respect towards Mikel Arteta’s side.
“They’ve obviously lost against Bournemouth but they’re still top of the table. We’re still chasing them, so we have to give them respect in that sense.”
A win for City would cut the gap at the top to just three points, setting up a thrilling conclusion to the Premier League season.
