James Agbey questions credibility of InfoAnalytic’s polls, endorses Julius Debrah

James Agbey James Agbey James Abbey believes there is a huge chance for Julius Debrah to lead the NDC

A leading member and operative of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), James Agbey has raised concerns over recent opinion polls by Global InfoAnalytics, led by Musah Dankwah, ahead of the 2027 NDC presidential primaries.

In a statement issued on April 7, 2026, Agbey described the polls as “deliberate distortions, selling under the guise of research and data gathering,” arguing that they may mislead public perception about potential candidates.

“While some argue that these surveys often lack scientific, representative sampling and transparent methodologies, I am of the view that it is all for the purposes of public opinion manipulation,” Agbey said.

Agbey added that Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff to the President of Ghana, remains a leading contender for the NDC’s 2028 presidential ticket.

“Julius Debrah is by far the man to beat regarding any NDC presidential calculation. In fact, he is not just the man in the arena but the real deal. His track record and influence within the NDC speak volumes,” he added.

He further called for transparency and credibility in public opinion exercises, stating; “We also know that such exercises must be carried out in a transparent process using credible mediums that are protected from manipulation.”

Agbey suggested that if Global Info Analytics wishes to maintain credibility, they should conduct actual grassroots sampling of NDC members and ensure that the results are fully verifiable.

He also urged a reconsideration of the recent polls, noting, “If Musah Dankwah has any dignity and integrity left, he will immediately withdraw his misleading surveys and tender an unqualified apology to Julius Debrah.”
