JURIST, the law student-powered international legal news organization, continues its 30th Anniversary celebration throughout 2026 with a special webinar series focused on the rule of law, human rights, and international justice.

The second webinar in the series will feature Justice Richard J. Goldstone, former Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and former Chief Prosecutor of the UN International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. The program, focused on an international anti-corruption court, will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST.

The webinar is free for students, with a suggested donation of $30 for all other attendees. Please click HERE to register.

Goldstone served as a judge in South Africa for 23 years, including nine years on the Constitutional Court following the country’s democratic transition. From August 1994 to September 1996, he served as the first Chief Prosecutor of the UN International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, helping establish key foundations for modern international criminal justice.

After retiring from the bench in 2004, Goldstone taught as a visiting professor at numerous law schools in the US and Europe. He later chaired the Independent Expert Review Group established in December 2019 by the Assembly of States Parties to review the International Criminal Court and the Rome Statute system.

Goldstone currently serves as Vice Chair of Integrity Initiatives International and was the first chair of its International Anti-Corruption Court Treaty Drafting Committee.

He is an honorary member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and an international member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is also an Honorary Bencher of the Inner Temple in London and an Honorary Fellow of St. John’s College, Cambridge. Among his honors are the American Bar Association’s International Human Rights Award (1994) and the International Justice Award from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (2009).

The JURIST 30th Anniversary webinar series will continue throughout 2026 with additional distinguished speakers addressing pressing global rule-of-law issues.

Founded in 1996, JURIST is an independent, non-profit legal news service powered by law students and supported by legal academics and professionals worldwide. JURIST’s mission is to provide reliable, non-partisan legal news and analysis while training the next generation of public-service-minded legal professionals.
