Bandits kill three local security men in Zamfara

Armed bandits have killed three members of the Community Protection Group (CPG) at Magamin Diddi community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

It was gathered that the bandits arrived in large numbers and engaged the local security members in a fierce exchange of gunfire before overpowering them and fleeing with the rifles of the local security men.

The victims were identified as Nasiru Gaji, Jamilu Ibrahim, and Bashar Dan Inna, with their bodies later evacuated to General Hospital, Maradun, for postmortem examination and subsequently released to their families for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

It was also gathered that security operatives have been placed on high alert across Maradun Local Government Area, with intensified patrols aimed at tracking down the fleeing suspects and preventing further violence.

Residents of the area have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements to authorities as efforts continue to restore calm in the troubled district.
