Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, wife of movie industry icon Olu Jacobs, has reflected on their love story and marriage.
Naija News reports that the 64-year-old actress, during her recent appearance on TVC’s Your View, admitted that their relationship started as love at first sight for her husband, but it was not exactly the same for her.
Offering rare insight into her decades-long union with Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva revealed that they met on a movie set.
The actress also revealed one of the perks of marrying an older man, noting that they allow their wives to get away with many things.
She said, “Yes we met on stage, and when we met on a movie set, everybody knew it was the great Olu Jacob who was coming, except me. When he came, we got on very well and it was after we started dating that I discovered his age because he looked so good.
“For him, it was love at first sight but for me, it wasn’t. These older men allow you to get away with a lot of things.”
Olu Jacobs was 44 years old when he tied the knot with the then 24-year-old Joke Silva. Their marriage, which has lasted nearly four decades, is blessed with two children and remains one of Nollywood’s most admired love stories
