Lance Corporal Morris Addae, a member of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) task force who was shot during an operation in January 2026, has successfully recovered and is preparing to return to duty.

In a statement dated Thursday, February 26, 2026, officials confirmed that the soldier sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, when unknown assailants opened fire on NAIMOS personnel during an anti-galamsey operation along the Subinkurom–Kyeremasu stretch in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region.
