Children’s Support Fund rises to GH¢10.1 million

An update issued on Saturday, February 28, 2026, has indicated that the donations made towards the Support Fund for children of victims of the August 6, 2025, helicopter crash, has amounted to GH¢10.1 million and US$20,000 as of 7 February 2026.

The Children Support Fund, set up to ensure the welfare and education of the victims’ children, has attracted contributions from government agencies, private organizations, and individual donors.

Among the notable contributors are the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of the Interior, and staffers from the Office of the President.

Helicopter Crash: Children’s Support Fund rises to GH¢3.5 million

“The total contributions now amount to GH¢10,150,495.00 and US$20,000.00, a sum intended to provide long-term support for the children affected by the crash, including educational assistance and other welfare initiatives,” the statement said.

Donations are still being received, and interested contributors can make payments via Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited and mobile money platforms.

“Donations may be made to the Fund via the following Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra): Ghana Cedi (GHS) Account: 9040013628372, US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534,” the statement indicated.

Officials coordinating the fund have expressed gratitude to all donors for their generosity and urged the public to continue contributing to ensure that the children of the 6 August tragedy have access to the support they need to thrive despite the loss of their parents.
