Justin Njinmah open to Super Eagles switch for Nigeria

Werder Bremen winger Justin Njinmah has indicated his openness to representing the Super Eagles after the Nigeria Football Federation expressed interest in the German-born forward, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

According to a Brentford fan account on X (@BRE_remy), Njinmah, who is eligible to play for Nigeria through his father, described the NFF’s interest as motivating and said he is open to playing for the Super Eagles.

The 25-year-old has not yet been capped by either Germany or Nigeria at any level, making him free to commit to either nation.

Njinmah’s potential Super Eagles switch had previously been encouraged by his Werder Bremen teammate Felix Agu, who made the switch to Nigeria himself after representing Germany’s Under-21 side.

After playing his first game for the Super Eagles during the Unity Cup in London last year, Agu publicly called out Njinmah, responding to the forward’s social media reaction with the message “u next!!”

Njinmah has been in impressive form for Bremen this season, contributing four goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances for Horst Steffen’s side. His versatility, able to play as a winger or central striker, attracted interest from Napoli during the January transfer window, though Bremen resisted any departure.
