Gyesi Boako, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Communication Team, has formally announced his intention to contest for the position of National Treasurer when nominations open.

In a statement, made available to GhanaWeb on Monday, February 9, 2026, and titled ‘Declaration of Intent’, Boako emphasised the critical role of finance in sustaining political parties.

According to him, no political party or entity can survive and remain competitive without finance, adding that a sound financial base is essential for the NPP’s future.

Boako also pledged to bring youthful energy, trust, competence, and transparency to the treasurer role, aligning financial management with global digital trends and innovative models.

He further highlighted his grassroots experience within the party and promised pragmatic strategies to strengthen its financial footing.

“I am fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead as the NPP squares up to the task ahead.” In stepping up to offer myself in service, I am equally dedicated to that task, not just in bringing our party back to power but in maintaining financial integrity, raising funds, and ensuring accountability across all party levels,” he said.

Boako concluded his declaration with a pledge to party faithful, affirming his commitment to serve with integrity and innovation.

DECLARATION OF INTENT

……………………………………….

I hereby announce my intention to run for the position of National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when nominations open.

Without doubt, no political party or entity can survive and remain competitive without finance. A political party without a sound financial base will wither and die.

In the 21st century context, finacial integrity calls for an alignment with global digital trends and financial models with innovation as a key cornerstone.

In offering myself for the high position of Treasurer of the NPP as I bring fresh sense of youthful energy anchored in trust, competence and transparency not just in financial matters but as an effective team player on the National Executive Committee.

In my years of dedicated service to the party, I bring real pragmatic experience of our grassroots, the heartbeat and pulse of our party. I bring new, innovative, exciting ideas on putting our party on a sound financial footing to drive our agenda.

I am fully aware of the challenges that lie ahead as the NPP squares up to the task ahead. In stepping up to offer myself in service, I am equally dedicated to that task, to play my role not just in bringing our party back to power but responsibility for maintaining financial integrity, raising funds and ensuring accountability across all party levels.

This is my solemn pledge to the party faithful as I seek this exalted position.

May God bless the NPP. May God bless Ghana.

Thank You.
