Data compiled by the Joy News Election Desk indicates that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has secured a commanding victory in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries held today, Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Based on provisional returns from all 275 constituencies, Dr. Bawumia has crossed the requisite 50% threshold with ease, effectively becoming the flagbearer-elect to lead the NPP into the 2026 general elections.
The results represent a significant endorsement of his bold solutions campaign and his quest to Break the Eight.
