NPP primary: voting progressing smoothly in Lambussie

Lambussie (UW/R), Jan. 31, GNA – Voting to elect the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate is progressing smoothly in the Lambussie constituency, amidst long queues of delegates waiting to cast their ballot.

Mr Nicholas Hille, the Presiding officer, told Ghana News Agency (GNA) that a total of 457 delegates were expected to cast their vote at the polling centre.

He said all electoral materials arrived on time, and officials were fully prepared ahead of the commencement of the polls, while agents of the various candidates were present monitoring the process.

At the time GNA visited the centre there was general calm, and orderly, with security personnel present to ensure calm, peaceful and free and fair elections.

As at 07:45 hours when the GNA arrived, the atmosphere was calm, and peaceful, while some 20 delegates tid already cast their vote.

Five aspirants, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, are contesting in the presidential primary.
