Some months I make up to $100,000 from social media — Wode Maya

Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya, whose real name is Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, has revealed that he earns substantial income from his social media activities.

The content creator, known for his travel and lifestyle videos, said posts on platforms such as YouTube and Facebook can bring him as much as $100,000 some months.

He explained that he focuses on platforms where monetisation is viable, avoiding others like TikTok that do not generate significant revenue for him.

Speaking in an interview with Bola Ray on the Starr Chat show on Thursday, January 29, Wode Maya emphasised the potential of social media for those who use it strategically.

The YouTuber further shared insights into how even simple posts, like photos, can generate income when managed professionally.

“Some months, I make about $100,000. Sometimes, $50,000 monthly is assured. Social media, if you use it wisely, can change everything,” he said.

He added that authenticity and control over his content are central to his approach, noting that he avoids brand deals that restrict his creative freedom.

Wode Maya also described how individual posts can earn money, citing a recent example where a single photo of himself and American Streamer IshowSpeed brought in $121 on Facebook as at the time of the interview.

“If I post a picture, the photo alone can make money. Imagine if I have 10 photos in a day; that’s multiplied income, professionally managed,” he explained.
