Parliament to reconvene on February 3, 2026

Alban Bagbin – SPeaker of Ghana Parliament

Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has announced that the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic will commence on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 1200 hours in Parliament House, Accra.  

This announcement was made through a statement dated January 19, 2026, signed by Speaker Bagbin, and issued by the Office of the Speaker on Monday, January 20, 2026, to the Ghana News Agency, Accra. 

It was in accordance with clause (1) of Article 112 of the 1992 Constitution. 

The upcoming Session is expected to focus on key legislative agendas, pending bills, approvals, and oversight responsibilities.  

The Speaker’s announcement formally notifies stakeholders and the public of the start of parliamentary business for the year. 

Parliament adjourned sine die on Friday, December 19, 2025, for the Christmas holidays.
