Sammy Crabbe (L) has stated that Justine Kodua (R) has no right to expel Prof Frimpong-Boateng Sammy Crabbe (L) has stated that Justine Kodua (R) has no right to expel Prof Frimpong-Boateng

Amid ongoing discussions over whether Professor Frimpong-Boateng’s future with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will come to an end, former National Vice Chairman of the party, Sammy Crabbe, has added his voice to the debate.

In an interview with Channel One shared on Facebook on January 15, 2026, Sammy Crabbe expressed disappointment in the party’s general secretary over a statement in which he indicated that the NPP has initiated formal expulsion proceedings against Prof Frimpong-Boateng for describing the party as a “fake party.”

According to Sammy Crabbe, Justine Kodua has no right to expel Professor Frimpong-Boateng from the party.

He explained that the general secretary is not the appropriate authority to cause the expulsion of a party member, noting that such responsibility rests with the party’s disciplinary committee.

“First of all, if he has done anything contrary to our laws, as a general secretary, you are a man of authority and you represent the party. You do not pronounce the outcome. You don’t say that you are sending the individual to the National Disciplinary Committee or NEC for him to be expelled. I think that is what is contained in the letter.

“…When you read the functions of a disciplinary committee, it states that they shall investigate complaints concerning the misconduct of a member; secondly, make a full, faithful, and impartial inquiry into any complaint referred to it; and thirdly, report in writing the results of the inquiry and the reasons leading to the conclusions reached,” he said.

Sammy Crabbe further described Justine Kodua’s letter, indicating that the NPP has begun processes to expel Prof Frimpong-Boateng, as premeditated.

According to him, the general secretary had already found Prof Frimpong-Boateng guilty even before allowing him to go through the appropriate disciplinary procedures.

“Meanwhile, the General Secretary has already reached the conclusion that the man must be expelled.

He has found him guilty before he even has a chance to be processed through the internal justice procedural system. This validates what the man was talking about,” he added.
