Dr Amoah (Sticka) is alleged to have said that CCC asked its members not to vote for a Muslim
The leadership of Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) has disassociated itself from alleged comments made by the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah, in the run-up to the 2024 general election.
Dr Amoah, who is also known as Sticka, is alleged to have said that CCC told its members “not to vote for a Muslim”.
The CCC, in a statement issued by its leadership, said that at no point was such an instruction given to its members, adding that it will not even contemplate such remarks because of its principles.
“We wish to state unequivocally that Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) has at no point issued any such directive. The comments made by Dr Stephen Amoah represent his personal views and do not, in any way, reflect the official stance, doctrine, or instructions of the church.
“CCC is a Bible-believing ministry founded on the principles of Christ’s love for all humanity. We pride ourselves on being a tolerant and inclusive family that welcomes individuals from all walks of life, regardless of their background or affiliations,” part of the statement read.
The church also stated that its only mission is to spread the “Word of God and to pray for the peace and prosperity of Ghana,” adding that it “remains strictly non-partisan” and is “not aligned with any political party or group”.
It, therefore, urged the general public to disregard reports of it giving such orders to its members.
