The Member of Parliament for Lmabussie, Hon. Prof. Titus K. Beyuo, has awarded outstanding health service workers in the district and donated medical equipment to support better healthcare delivery.
The ceremony, held on 05 January 2026 at Lambussie, marked the first time health service workers in the district have been formally recognized for their dedication and hard work. The event brought together chiefs, opinion leaders, all health officials in the district, and other stakeholders from across the district.
Hon. Prof. Beyuo praised the health workers for their commitment to serving the people, often under difficult conditions.
He said the awards were meant to encourage them to remain focused and motivated in their duties. Hon. Prof. Beyuo congratulated the awardees, adding that the awards ceremony has come to stay.
In addition to the awards, the Lambussie MP donated medical equipment worth about 97,000 Ghana cedis to the District Health Directorate. The donated equipment included 30 blood pressure machines, 10 fetal dopplers, 15 baby weighing scales, 3 examination couches, and 15 bathroom scales. The equipment is expected to strengthen health facilities and improve service delivery across the district.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Prof. Beyuo reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare in Lambussie. He suggested to the District Director of Health Service, Mr. Bin-Eranaa Jerdu Nuhu, the need to work collectively towards having polyclinics at Samoa, Piina, and Karni for enhanced health delivery in these areas.
He explained that the donations forms part of his broader effort to improve health infrastructure and ensure better access to quality healthcare for residents of the district.
At the ceremony, the most outstanding health staff for 2025, Mr. Iddrisu Haliq, received a brand new motor bicycle while Mr. Nelson N. Bizuku and Ms. Lucy Maapiel who were first and second runners-up respectively received a refrigerator and a television set.
In his remarks, the District Director of the Ghana Health Service expressed gratitude to Hon. Prof Beyuo for his continued support. He commended the MP for consistently working to retool health facilities and motivate health workers in the district.
The event was widely welcomed by stakeholders who described it as a positive step towards strengthening healthcare delivery in Lambussie District.
