A trailer full of soya beans has run over an okada rider, believed to be 27 years old, killing him on the spot at Suame Maakro in the Ashanti Region.

According to an eyewitness, the trailer with registration GT-1963-13 ran over the man after a hook on the vehicle trapped the okada rider who was driving beside the long vehicle, leaving him under the truck.
Some residents in an interview with OTEC News said they have recorded dozens of accidents in the area, attributing it to the ongoing construction works on the road.
“This is not the first time we have seen dozens of accidents here, but this time around, we are not lucky; a soul is gone.
The ongoing construction work has rendered the road very difficult to ply, causing accidents. We hope they complete the work soon to avoid these accidents.”
Meanwhile, police in the area reported to the scene, conveying the body to a morgue for identification.
