'Even if I retire today, you'll still not be on my level' — Wizkid to Davido

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has taken a swipe at his industry rival and colleague Davido over the latter’s criticism of his career.

Wizkid says he can choose to retire from music today yet Davido can never grow to be at the level he has achieved in his career.

“I got nothing to say to u, my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be an influencer with a songwriter. Wish u well,” he wrote in a post on X on Monday, April 29.

Background:
In a series of social media posts in the early hours of Monday, April 29, Wizkid took a swipe at some Nigerian industry giants including Don Jazzy, whom he termed as an influencer, Davido and others.

In one of the posts, he posted a video which recently circulated purportedly capturing Davido on his knees and begging a woman for sex.

In a response in the late hours of Monday, Davido said things like this are why he stopped wasting his millions of dollars on endorsement deals for Wizkid.

He further noted that Wizkid’s career, which was already dead, was resurrected just to die again.

“That’s what I thought. Nothing to say! Exactly why I stopped wasting my clout and jeopardizing my millions of US dollars in endorsements on someone whose career was resurrected a few years ago just to die again. NEXT!,” he wrote.
