Government starts major road repairs in Ejisu ahead of by-election –

The Roads and Highways Minister, Francis Asenso Boakye, along with ministry officials, inspected ongoing road projects in the Ejisu Municipality on April 18.

The government pledged to ensure the completion of the projects and dismissed speculations linking them to the upcoming by-election in the area.

Minister Asenso Boakye emphasized that the projects, including about 32 road infrastructure projects within the Ejisu Constituency, were awarded in the past three months, prior to the passing of the late Member of Parliament, John Ampontuah Kumah.

In an interview, he said “None of these projects was awarded in the last three months. These are not by-election projects… The MP who passed on was instrumental in ensuring these projects were designed and constructed.”

The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the projects, which encompass urban, Ghana Highway Authority, and Feeder roads projects.

“I’m confident they will continue to work very hard so that we can complete the project as scheduled. These are not by-election projects; these are normal projects the ministry is implementing,” he added.
