2 partner to train certified energy professionals –

THE Association of Ghana Industries – Energy Service Centre (AGI-ESC) has partnered with the Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA) to train certified energy professionals in Ghana.

The training and certification programme is aimed at delivering the latest technical knowledge to Ghanaian energy engineers who are focused on specialised areas of business, industry and government.

The Certification programmes include Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), Certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP), Certified Water Efficiency Professional (CWEP), Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP), Certified Industrial Energy Professional (CIEP), Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) and Certified Business Energy Professional (BEP).

Speaking at a signing ceremony in Accra on Thursday, the Executive Director of IEPA, Yolande de Lange, highlighted the significance of engaging energy professionals and providing them with education to meet global standards.

She said the goal was to bring certifications closer to Ghanaian energy engineers, fostering international standards compliance.

The partnership, she said, will connect Ghanaian energy engineers to the outside world and enable them to explore opportunities in other countries.

The Director of Finance and Administration at AGI, Nath Quarcoopome, expressed gratitude to IEPA, emphasising the potential for global competitiveness among AGI members through the certification programme. 

He encouraged AGI members to enrol in the programme to gain the latest knowledge in their respective fields.

He said the role of the energy sector in Ghana’s industrial development was crucial. Hence, the training and certification programmes would equip professionals with the knowledge needed to thrive in the sector.

Association of Energy Professionals Ghana

The event also marked the inauguration of the Association of Energy Professionals Ghana (AEPG). 

The President of AEPG, Darlington Ahuble, said the association seeks to promote scientific and educational interests in the energy industry and foster sustainable development in Ghana.

He said while the association had been in existence since 2019, the official launch aimed to expand activities across the country.
