Stolen Cash: Cecilia Dapaah’s Househelp, 6 Others Rearrested, Face 31 Fresh Charges |

Patience Botwe, a former househelp of ex-Minister for Sanitation Cecilia Dapaah, and six others have been rearrested and are now facing 31 fresh charges.

The seven are in court for their alleged roles in the stolen monies and items of the former Minister.

When the case was called on Wednesday, November 8, at the Circuit Court in Accra, presided over by Her Honour Afia Owusuaa Appiah, the accused were discharged.

This was after the prosecution led by Akosua Agyapomaa Agyemang, an Assistant State Attorney informed the court that the Republic had filed a new charge sheet at the High Court and wished to withdraw the previously amended charge sheet filed on August 8.

The seven individuals, namely Patience Botwe, Sarah Agyei, Benjamin Sowah, Malik Dauda, Christiana Achab, Job Pomary, and Yahaya Sumaila, were previously charged with 14 counts, which ranged from conspiracy to steal, stealing, money laundering, and dishonesty receiving.

Following the new charge sheet filed, the prosecution prayed that all the charges against the accused persons be withdrawn at the Circuit Court.

The Court consequently struck out the charge sheet filed on August 8, 2023, as withdrawn and discharged the accused persons.

However, they were immediately rearrested by the Police officers after stepping out of the docket.
