Kwame Obeng Asare, also known as A-Plus, has accused Ernest Owusu-Bempah Bonsu, Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana National Gas Company, of masterminding the attack on UTV studios by thugs.
The thugs reportedly from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who disrupted the show were heard saying “We’re waiting for A-Plus”. According to them, they need A-Plus to apologize for ripping a letter sent to UTV by the party.
A-Plus who was enraged by the actions of the thugs speaking as a panelist on United Showboz said he’s heard that Owusu Bempah was the one who sent the thugs to attack him.
“We’ve tolerated things enough in this country. I’ve heard Owusu Bempah was the one who sent the thugs. I’m just hoping that it’s not true…if it’s true and he repeats that again, I’ll also organize boys and send them to Ghana Gas. When we were campaigning for Akufo-Addo he was following Nana Konadu. He’s a very stupid boy; I’m not afraid of him and I’m warning Owusu Bempah…I’m not a coward; I’m warning you, if you’re the one who did this, you’re a very stupid boy. All my boys are just a phone call away. Next time bring your boys here and we will beat them to a pulp…this is a civilized country and we can’t sit here and pretend. How can Owusu Bempah call UTV threatening them to close down the station; foolish boy, idiot! can you shut down UTV? Things like this affect the whole NPP as a party” he roared.
