Asante Kotoko faces difficult game against Karela United at Anyinase on Thursday

Reigning Ghana champions Asante Kotoko are lacing up for a tough duel on Thursday as they take on relegation-threathened Karela United in the betPawa Premier League.

This Matchday 15 fixture will be played at the Crossby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park, Anyinase as Kotoko continue with the defence of the title they won last season.

The Porcupines will come up against a Karela United side that finds itself on the wrong side of the table, battling relegation for the first time since becoming a Ghanaian top-flight side.

Asante Kotoko are second on the league table with 24 points, one point behind leaders Aduana FC going into the midweek thrills.

Coach Seydou Zerbo’s side are unbeaten in their last six league games, and they will go into this fixture in high spirits of preserving that run.

In the last three meetings between the sides at the CAM Park, Asante Kotoko has two wins and a draw, and they will take inspiration from this as they go in search of their seventh win of the campaign.

This, will be a tough call for the record Ghana champions as they will come up against a Karela United side that is determined to climb out of the drop zone to correspond with the very high standards they hold as a Ghanaian top-flight side.
