The Year of Return has been highly successful as high profile African Americans have trooped in to the country to reconnect with their ancestry in consonance with the theme of the programme.
One of my fav rappers, Ludacris real name Christopher Brian Bridges is the latest person to join the tall list of celebs from America who is in the country for the Year Return campaign.
After going to the Cape Castle and experiencing at first hand the history about the slave trade, Ludacris took to Instagram to make a profound statement.
He wrote;
Our ancestors never gave up Faith. You can never imprison our minds nor our spirits. They empowered me to Return. I have completed the cycle and I’m beginning a new Cycle. The Chains have been Broken and the indomitable resilience of African People Triumphs.
