Marriage and relationship counselor, Frank Eden Adofoli has cautioned women to desist from marrying men of God either for their popularity or the cash they have, stressing that they should get married to men of God solely because they desire to help the men of God succeed in their mission.
“If you are a young lady and want to marry a man of God, please do so because you want to be his helper not because of his popularity or the tithe he receives from his church. A helper in the sense that his business is your business, you are not going in because of the harvest but you are involved in the labour,” he advised.
He is of the opinion that women who marry for self-serving reasons either than to help the men of God succeed will have failed marriages because the “Kingdom business” has nothing to do with popularity and fame.
“The Kingdom business is not about fame or popularity; it is about serving God faithfully with whatever He has given you,” he added.
He insisted that having the gift to sing without the desire to serve God and support your husband does not qualify young ladies to marry men of God because men of God will abandon non-supportive wives for supportive ones.
“No man of God wants to have a wife who doesn’t support him. If you don’t have the heart and desire to serve God, don’t date any man of God in the first place. If you are dating him because you think having the gift to sing well makes you the ideal wife for him, you are wrong. You will be replaced when he gets someone who sings better and supports him,” he concluded.
Counsellor Adofoli has through social media and other platforms offered free counseling to would-be couples and the married on how to have successful relationships the Godly way.
