Accra, Dec.4, GNA –
Mrs Stacy Amewoyi, a Ghanaian Entrepreneur has been honoured with two
humanitarian awards in the United States (US) for her benevolent gestures and
contribution to the welfare of humanity.
She was awarded the
“Special Role Model Award” by the 19th annual Ghanaian-Canadian Achievement
Awards for her contribution to the progressive rise and empowerment of the
less-privileged.
She also picked the
award for “Entrepreneurship Excellence” as the 3G Author of the Year at the
2019 instalment of the annual 3G Awards, all in the US.
In an interview with
the Ghana News Agency, Mrs Amewoyi said: “Being the shoulder for those with
least or nothing in life to lean on comfortably is my passion. She therefore,
made the vow with God to channel part of her hard income in the harsh cold and
winter weathers of the United States to society.”
Therefore, for the
past decade, she had solely focused on creating jobs for people through the
‘Stacy M’ Foundation by offering free vocational training for needy and vulnerable
youth groups, and donating to persons on the streets of New Jersey and in
Ghana.
“I receive this
award as a token of an appreciation on behalf of anyone who’s into charity
works. I urge charitable foundations and organisations to let this be a source
of encouragement and empowerment to them to do more to contribute to the
development of humanity,” he said.
Speaking on the
reception of the 3D Author award, she expressed gratitude to the organisers for
the recognition, especially as all nominees were equally capable of winning the
award, adding that, the honour would encourage her to do more.
Mrs Amewoyi, also
authored a book titled, “the King’s Choice,” which became a best-seller,
winning her several awards.
The Entrepreneur
made reference to her personal struggles in life as an orphan who broke every
gravitational force of failure to climb the success chain by finding comfort
and building a strong enterprise and coveted brand for herself.
Ms Amewoyi started
as a beauty queen, winning a crown in her teens and becoming a vixen in videos
for top Ghanaian artistes like VIP, 4X4, Pat Thomas, and Dada KD.
Her willingness to
explore different angles of the entertainment industry saw her exhibit unique
natural talents in Ghanaian movies, before finally departing to the United
States, where she was residing.
Earlier this year,
she donated items such as clothes, drinks, and foods to the homeless in New
Jersey to enable them to feel belonging.
She said it was her
plan to repeat the gesture in Ghana this December to put smiles on the faces of
the less privileged in the society.
