Communications Minister, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, as part of directives for the implementation of the 9% Customer Service Tax (CST) increase, says the Ministry will tolerate no excuse for poor service quality.
According to the Minister, all efforts to get the telecommunication networks to revert the 9% communication tax increase have proved futile, therefore, there was the need for customers to be given value for money.

“We will tolerate no excuse for poor service because they are now effectively robbing consumers though there has been no additional operation change in their environment and we expect that customers enjoy their unused bundles which will be rolled over to the next recharge,” she said.
Speaking at the Meet-the-Press Series in Accra on Monday, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful reiterated network providers would be subjected to strict compliance in the new CST.

“We will crack down on telecommunication companies that fail to comply with the directive not to charge the 3% communication service tax upfront and we will encourage consumers to report poor service from providers,” she said.
