Reports indicate that there was pandemonium at DJ Arafat’s funeral when fans of the coupé-décalé master opened his coffin to check if he was really dead.
The fans who seemed fearless despite the presence of policemen, checked his tattoos to also be certain if Dj Arafat was the one being buried.
Ivorian superstar DJ Arafat, died in August 2019 following a traffic accident that occurred after ramming his over speeding motorcycle into a car being driven by a journalist in Abidjan.
The 33-year-old was often credited as being the originator of the coupé-décalé genre of music. His fans who could not believe the authenticity of the news besieged the polyclinic where he was admitted shortly after the accident wailed uncontrollably.
“The death of artist DJ Arafat, his real name Houon Ange Didier, Monday, August 12 at 8 am (local and GMT), as a result of a traffic accident that occurred in the night of Sunday to Monday in Abidjan,“RTI said in tweet.
