The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region has sacked its Regional Communications Director, Issah Fusieni from office over ‘misconduct’.
Issah Fusieni and four others were appointed and sworn into office on 4th May, 2019 following the creation of Western North Region from existing Western Region by the Akufo-Addo-led government.
Before his appointment, he was a member of the party’s Communications team in the Region.
In a statement issued and signed by the Regional Secretary of the party, Charles Bissue, sighted by the GhanaWeb’s Regional Correspondent, Daniel Kaku, the party explained that “the executives concurred on the removal of Issah Fuseni as the Regional Communications Director with immediate effect”.
The leadership of the party in the Region took the decision at the Regional meeting held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in Takoradi.
According to the statement, the Deputy Regional Secretary has been asked to act as the Regional Communications Director until a substantive replacement is appointed.
Speaking to Charles Bissue, the Regional Secretary of the party on Thursday, August 22, 2019, he confirmed the statement as authentic but declined to give reasons as to why Issah Fusieni has been sacked as the Regional Communications Director of the party.
On his part, the Deputy Regional Secretary who has been asked to act as the Regional Communications Director, Rex Dominic Johfiah, he disclosed that the decision was taken by the Regional Executive Committee and added that he had accepted the appointment.
He, therefore, promised to work effectively until a substantive one is appointed.
Mr. Johfiah said the leadership of the party would come out later and state the reasons why the party removed the Communications Director from office.
