Buhari Charges New Ministers –

Nigeria’s President, Buhari, has charged his new ministers to work together towards delivering the results that the people of Nigeria expect from them.

He made the call as he swore the ministers into office on Wednesday.

He stated the primary business of his administration over the next four years is to work together to deliver results for Nigerians.

” We have a great opportunity as an Administration to build on the progress already made in order to fundamentally shift Nigeria’s trajectory on the path of steady growth and development,” he said.

“I have directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to track progress against the commitments we have made. He is expected to report the process of implementation and outcome to the Federal Executive Council,” according to Mr. Buhari who began his second term journey this year.

“I must emphasize the importance of communication and harmony within our government. I charged the new Ministers to work in harmony with one another. There is certainly a price to pay when we ignore communication. In this Next Level we must do better.”

He said “to help our government achieve better coordination, I have asked the Ministers to ensure that all submissions for my attention and all meeting requests are channeled through the Chief of Staff; while all Federal Executive Council (FEC) matters be coordinated through the SGF.”

“The Federal Ministries have been further expanded to ensure effective service delivery. I am also pleased to note important reforms in the Cabinet Memorandum Review and Approval Process, all aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of decision-making and policy implementation.”
