Executive Director of the Ghana
National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, Dominic Eduah, has given an
assurance that the oil revenues will be distributed equitably across the country.

According to him, the decision
would not only help to accelerate development in communities where oil is found,
but would also benefit the entire country.

He stated this when the GNPC
Foundation commissioned a 24-seater newly-constructed Sanitary Facility at
Bompeh Secondary Technical School in the Secondi Takoradi Metropolis.

He pointed out that the foundation
would continue to support communities in need with basic amenities including
construction of boreholes, classroom blocks and other educational facilities,
and also offer scholarships.

According to Mr. Eduah, the
facility was among 30 other projects at various levels of completion across the
country aimed at improving sanitation in the schools and communities.

He urged the school to develop good
maintenance culture to ensure the facility lasted to serve generations yet
unborn. He noted that the foundation had its focus on impacting lives by
building facilities for the needy communities. He pledged the foundation’s
continuous support in contributing to nation building.

He challenged other organizations
to take Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously to ensure that lives
and communities were positively affected.

He disclosed that the foundation
was building a 160-bed capacity hostel with ancillary facilities at the
Sekondi School for the Deaf at Inchaban, as well as some classroom blocks at
Sekondi College.

He also indicated that at Efiakuma
Police Park in the metropolis, a traditional pitch was being transformed into
an ultra-modern artificial turf.

Headmaster of the school, Mr.
Joseph Borketey Larweh, thanked GNPC Foundation for making good on its promise
to help the school.

“We are grateful to GNPC
Foundation. We promise to take good care of this well equipped sanitary
facility so it can serve generation unborn,” he added.
