Botswana: Junior Miss Botswana Auditions Tomorrow

Gaborone — Madam Queen, in partnership with SuperModel.INC, will conduct auditions for Junior Miss Botswana on August 3 from 10am to 4pm at Artistic Minds Pre-School in Gaborone.

Registration forms can be accessed through the Junior Miss Botswana official Facebook page for those who are outside Gaborone, and registration fee is P100.

The Junior Miss Botswana’s mission is to promote botho, confidence, self-awareness and charity amongst young girls.

Pageant’s aspirants should be aged between six and 14 and should bring full body pictures and top half body pictures for identification. The pageantry, which is now in its 8th year, will embark on a training programme from October to November for the finalists, and the finale will be announced thereafter.

Queen Kolobe of Madam Queen Modeling Agency said in an interview that their objective was to groom young girls with the hope that they would be women of substance in their communities, and for one of them to be crowned Miss Botswana when they were older.

She said the pageant was also meant to groom young girls who were interested in modeling. Moreover, she said she aspired to brand Junior Miss Botswana internationally. “To mould and produce girls who are globally aware and ready to compete at international level,” she said.

She noted that last year they raised over P120 000 for Child Line, revealing that this year, they would educate participants on the value of community work and botho through a ‘Big Sister’ mentorship programme, in partnership with Child Line Botswana.
