Sonko’s Dandora Stadium Nears Completion as Workers Lay Artificial Turf

The new Dandora Stadium in Embakasi North is nearing completion as Nairobi Governor Sonko looks set to fulfill the campaign pledge by the end of this month.

Constructed according to Fifa international standards, Dandora Stadium will be the third-best stadium in the country after Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums.

Barely two months after his last update on the ongoing construction, Sonko on Thursday shared pictures of the progress. The photos show what everyone has probably been waiting to see; the artificial turf of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass.

Workers laying the artificial grass also took some time to pose for selfies on the crisp looking turf.

“We are finalizing the construction of the new Dandora Stadium in Embakasi North Sub-County. The FIFA standard stadium will be ready to host local and international football matches in the next Kenyan Premier League season,” said Sonko.

Here are the photos.
