Many Event Organizers keep on complaining about the amount GH musicians charge them before they agree to play shows for them.
According to Producer and Boss of Slip , Mark Okraku-Mantey, musicians keep increasing their booking fees and it’s making it difficult for them event organizers to pay them, and because of that, many event organizers are going out of business.
On Hitz FM, Mark Okraku-Mantey said,
” When event organizers approach artistes for performances, they charge us higher. But when they are performing for their friends and fans, they do it for free. It is becoming one-sided. I think we should discuss it. “
Mark Okraku-Mantey continued,
“I feel Artistes should meet us half way; it’s an industry we are all trying to build together. When one party decides to keep charging high, it’s making us the event organizers go out of business, and this won’t help the industry in the long run. Artistes should also meet us event organizers half way.”
