A Church I Performed For Refused To Send Me My GH200 Momo- Empress Gifty

Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Gifty Adorye popularly known as Empress Gifty says a church she once performed for refused to return her GH200 she used to pay instrumentalists.

In an interview on Happy Fm, she disclosed that the churches are responsible for killing the dreams of gospel artistes.

Gifty Adorye advised colleague gospel musicians to take their music beyond the church if they want to stay in the game.

“When pastors invite you to their church programs, they want to enjoy your talent for free and if that is all you do, how do you make ends meet’’ she lamented.

“I went to perform in a church sometime back and the pastor asked me to pay the instrumentalists that played Two hundred Cedis (GHS 200.00) and he will reimburse me through mobile money, but he never did.
The most painful part is I led the fundraising that day and I know we raised a lot of money’’ she narrated.
