The Editor-In-Chief of the Informer Newspaper, Andy Kankam, is alleging that, he has gathered information that, some Members of Parliament and senior members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), are scheming to get the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Free Zones Board, Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi, removed from office.

The journalist said he has gathered intelligence to that effect and with his good network, he has been reliably informed of the machination by these individuals to oust the CEO of the board.

Andy Kankam noted that the move is not only attributed to the Free Zones CEO as some senior officials within the party, are not happy about some appointments made by President Nana Akufo-Addo, and because of that, they are working hard to get some of these persons removed.

He also alleged that, some individuals are also undermining Abu Jinapor, the Deputy Chief of Staff, to cast him in a bad light in order to get him removed from office.

‘’They see them as threat and these appointees are excelling,’’ he added.

He said, ‘’when people are competent and the president appoints them, they should not be undermined. I don’ think it is the best and so I thought we should put it out there. We are monitoring them. If they continue, we will not hesitate to reveal their identity, name and shame them,’’ he warned.

When asked if he would be able to provide an evidence to support his allegation, Andy Kankam said, ‘’when we get there. I will provide the evidence. I will not brag but some MPs who feel threatened by the performance of these Chief Executives, and the young guys appointed by Nana Addo, to be part of the governance process are plotting against them because they see them as a threat. I am cautioning them to desist from their evil machinations otherwise we will expose them.’’

He believes the young appointees should be allowed to also grow and climb the ladder and should we allow these things to fester, young people would not be allowed to grow and contribute to the governance process.

Andy Kankam who is a sympathizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) stressed that, the actions by these senior party officials should not be entertained since the effects would be disastrous no matter the government in power.
