Reverend Mrs Benedicta Nunoo, the Western Regional President of Mothers of Africa, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has presented assorted textbooks to the Methodist Senior High School at Kansaworodo, a suburb of Takoradi.

Sixteen senior high and community schools out of the 22 targeted schools in the Region have benefited from the package, which included sports jerseys and files.

Rev. Nunoo, who was accompanied by the Regional Vice-President, Mrs Jane Asamoah Broni, said the NGO, among its programmes, had formed women intercessory prayer group and was also inculcating sound moral principles in the youth.

She said the NGO would continue to intercede for Africa through intensive prayers to harness its resources for accelerated development.

The move, among other things, is to help the Continent to reduce its reliance on foreign aid and adopt the concept of domestication.

“It is therefore imperative for people to bring their expertise to bear on the development of our Continent,” Rev. Nunoo said.

She told the GNA that the NGO would not renege on its mission in caring for the underprivileged children and support schools, especially those in rural areas.

Mrs Adjoa Awinador-Kanyirige, the Vision Bearer, said the NGO, which currently operated in 16 African countries, sought to bring unification to the Continent.
