One of the sons of former President John Agyekum Kufour, Edward Agyekum Kufour, who doubles as an actor and pastor has advised stakeholders with interest in the movie industry to support, promote and protect the Ghanaian heritage.
Reacting to a question posed to him on the upsurge of foreign contents on Ghanaian screens, the 47-year old actor said though Ghanaians crave for foreign contents, they should to be appreciative of the local contents too.
Speaking with Mikki Osei Bero on the ‘After Hours’ show, the ex President’s son described the industry as ‘growing’ and doing well lately.
“There’s appetite for the foreign telenovelas but we should start looking more only at being proud of what is uniquely ours. That is the only way, we’re going to grow.
“Our local movie industry is growing… We can only grow when we are able to fix the main challenges and so doing we have to d0 more collaborations and get good scripts.” Mr. Edward Agyekum Kufour said on After Hours.
