Franky Kuri RemainsKuri died with Ebony and a bodyguard in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road

Family of Franky Kuri, friend of Ebony Reigns, who also died in the gory accident that claimed the artiste’s life, is threatening to take legal action against people alleging that the family is struggling to transport her body to Accra.

According to her brother, Charles Sackey, their family is not poor, adding that the false publications is just to taint the image of Franklina Yaa Nkansah.

A Facebook post on the wall of one Elikem Kotoko claiming to be a friend to the late Franklina Nkansah says the family have been asked to pay GH?3,000 for the body to be released.

“Frankie’s lifeless body was left at the morgue to its fate, and when a relation went to the morgue to retrieve the corpse, he was made aware that he had to pay GHC2,000 cedis for the corpse to be released.”

“…And another GHC1,000 to complete the process and that GHC1,000 is alleged to be going to the medical doctor for reasons I don’t know”, Elikem wrote on his wall.

But rebutting the claims on an online radio, Frankie’s brother said the family was expecting all the three bodies to be transported to Accra since the three died together.

Charles said the family dispatched two members from their family to the morgue and on getting there found that his sister’s body was still there after the two bodies had been transported to Accra.

“Our family is not poor; reports that we couldn’t transport our Franky to Accra because of money is false. Since Franky died with her friend Ebony and the soldier, we thought that either the soldier or Ebony’s family would transport our own since they all died together.

He continued that “Two of our members got to the morgue only to realise that Franky’s body was still there, so they called one uncle who is also called Uncle Franky and he sent them money to transport the body so we have already sent Franky to Accra and we don’t understand why the media must report that false story”, he cried.

He has therefore pleaded with Ghanaians to disregard the claims because they have not solicited for funds from government.

“Franky is not a stateswoman and so we don’t expect government to bury her. She is our blood and we will take care of everything and so Ghanaians should disregard the information”, he pleaded.

Charles disclosed that the family is planning to take legal action against the media for the false publication.

“Now, what we are interested in, is to see that my sister rests in peace. She will be buried and after that we will meet anyone making false publication about the family in court”, he warned.

Meanwhile, Franklina would be buried on March 3.

The funeral will take place at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church at Kwashieman and she will be buried at Achimota.
