Ebenezer Ofori will seal his move to New York City FC today
Ghana international Ebenezer Ofori is expected in New York today to complete his proposed move to MLS side New York City FC from Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart.
The 22-year old will join the MLS outfit on a one year loan deal with an option to buy after agreeing personal terms a few weeks ago.
The deal was held up due to processes involved in securing the player’s work permit, but an official announcement is expected to be made in 48 hours, according to the player’s representative Alex Akummey.
“He will fly to New York today. The work permit took some time to process, but we will receive it in a day or two.
“I’m sure an official announcement will be made in the next two days,” he told Citi Sports.
The 22-year old has only played 9 minutes of football this season for Stuttgart, after playing a key role in their promotion to the top flight last season.
Ofori made his debut for the Black Stars at the 2017 AFCON in the 3rd place playoff against Burkina Faso.
