The staff have been calling for the removal of the Director for months
Dr. Eugene Dordoye has been removed as the medical director of the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital, a decision taken by the Ministry of Health to end the longstanding impasse that has affected healthcare delivery at the facility.
Public Relations officer of the Ministry, Cudjoe, confirmed the removal of Dr. Dordoye to TV3’s Daniel Opoku Friday, after an emergency meeting convened by the Health Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, in Accra to resolve the impasse.
It followed the latest action taken by the nurses and physician assistants on February 14 to stay away from work to press home their demand for Dr. Dordoye to be removed on claims of mismanagement and gross disrespect to staff.
For months, the staff have been up in arms with the medical director who they alleged, had put them in emotional and psychological stress.
